The AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Institute) is a group of prestigious medical Institutes in India. AIIMS, New Delhi was first established in 1956. The AIIMS 2020 exam will be conducted for the admission in MBBS course in all AIIMS Institute in India. There is a total of 15 AIIMS institutes in India and the total seats are 1200 MBBS seats in India. Also, in 15 AIIMS institute, there will be reservation for 7.5% for ST candidates, 15% for SC aspirants and 27% for OBC students. During the basic registration process of AIIMS application form, you need to fill the personal details, contact details and upload the scanned images of passport size photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression.

If you are reaching the age of 17 years as on the 31st December, then you are eligible. You must have passed the 12th Class under the 10+2 Scheme/Senior School certificate (C.B.S.E) or an equivalent examination of a recognised Board or University of any Indian State Board with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The minimum aggregate marks from English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology must be 60% whereas for general category and for SC it is 50%. You will be still eligible to apply if you have already appeared in the qualifying exam before AIIMS examination then. However, after the result, you must give documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying exam with required percentage of marks else your admission will be cancelled.

O.C.I (Overseas citizen of India) register under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955 are also eligible to appear in the AIIMS exam. For Foreign students, the nomination is done by the government of India. To become eligible for admission to the MBBS, they are required to have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination. 

Application Form

The Registration will now be done in three Stages: Basic Registration, Generation of Code (for Final Registration) and Final Registration.

  2. You will be directed to the registration page, where you have to enter the personal details such as nationality, name, father's and mother's name, date of birth, category and ID proof details.
  3. You will ask to enter the contact details which include email ID, mobile number and alternative mobile/landline number.
  4. The declaration page must be signed, states that the information filled in the form is correct as per the best of their knowledge. Then, click on 'Generate Registration ID and Password'.
  5. Once you submit the application, the 'Registration ID' will be displayed on the screen.
  6. After clicking on the register button, your ID will be displayed on the screen, which must be noted for future reference. An email and an SMS mentioning ID and login password will also be sent on the registered mobile number and email ID.
  7. In the second step, you have to upload the scanned copy of passport size photograph, signature and left handed. The images must be scanned properly as per the specification.
  8. In the final registration, you need to log in using their registration ID, unique code, password and displayed captcha code, as shown in the image below.
  9. After completing the registration process, you will be redirected to a new window to pay the application fee.

If you are foreign national students are not required to fill up the Online Registration form of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. If you wish to apply for admission to MBBS Course against any seat that is subject to announcement/notification by the Govt. of India for the year 2020 should contact the Indian Mission/Post abroad in their Country.

AIIMS 2020 Examination Pattern

  1. The duration of the AIIMS 2020 MBBS exam is 3½ hour.
  2. The mode of exam will be Online.
  3. The mode of language is either in English or Hindi.
  4. Also, for every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded.
  5. Whereas for an incorrect answer, 0.33 mark will be deducted.
