Jee Main 2020 Exam

The JEE Main (Joint Entrance Exam) is an all India engineering entrance exam conducted for the admission in various engineering colleges in India. The first JEE Main was conducted in 2012 where more than 4 lakhs students appeared in the exam. Through this exam you can get admission in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and some Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). The JEE Main exam has two paper, Paper-1 and Paper-2. You can opt for either or both of them. Paper 1 is for the admission in B.E/B. Tech courses and Paper 2 is for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses.

The JEE Main exam will be conducted twice by NTA (National Test Agency), one in the month of January and other in April. The examination was conducted in both online and offline.

JEE Main 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The student with the date of birth on or after October 1, 1995, will be eligible. For Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe(ST) category, there will be age limit relaxation as per the government norms, they will be provided with a relaxation of upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

You must have completed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board/institute in the year 2019. If you are appearing in the final board exam can apply as well. Also, if you have completed the three years diploma can apply as well.

You must have physics, chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. The most important thing, the JEE Main can be attempted only 3 times. Those who have already appeared 3 times in the exam are not eligible.

JEE Main 2020 Application Form

The application form will be filled through online mode. The application form for January exam will start from 1st week of September 2019 and for the April exam will start from February 2020 onwards.

First, you have to give details like Name, Valid Email & Mobile number etc. Also, you have to choose the username and password for the login ID which must be kept safe for the entire duration of the JEE Main 2020 process till the admission is completed.

Aadhaar number/ election card/ passport number/ bank account number/ ration card number or any other government identity card number is required to fill the application form.

The scanned photograph must be in jpg or jpeg format with a minimum size of 10 kb and a maximum size of 200 kb. Whereas the scanned signature must also be jpg or jpeg format with a minimum size of 4 kb and a maximum size of 200 kb.

Steps to Fill the JEE 2020 form

  1. Visit the NTA Official Website nta.ac.in.
  2. Click on ‘Apply for JEE Main 2019’ option.
  3. In the next step, fill the Authentication Form by entering Nationality, State of Eligibility, State where Class 12th School / NIOS study centre is located, Identification Type,  Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Security Pin.
  4. After filling in the online form, you have to scan and upload photograph and signature per the defined guidelines by NTA. 
  5. Make sure that you upload clear photograph else it will be rejected.
  6. Keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of the examination, seat allotment and admission process. 
  7. If you applying to a reserved category you must obtain caste certificates from designated authorities.
  8. The payment can be done by via Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ PayTM/ Cash Cards/ SBI Buddy Wallet.
  9. The payment can be done through e-challan. Visit the nearest Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank or ICICI Bank to make the payment.
  10. Kindly take the printout of Acknowledgement Page and keep it for reference.

JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern

Paper 1

  1. The JEE Main 2020 will be conducted in both online and offline.
  2. The exam duration will be 3 hours.
  3. The medium of the language will be English and Hindi.
  4. Four marks will be awarded, for every correct answer.
  5. Whereas for the incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
  6. There will 90 questions and the questions are of MCQ (multiple choice questions).

  6. There will 82 questions and the questions are of MCQ (multiple choice questions), and 2 questions will be drawing based.
