JEE Mains Score card| Percentile| Expected Rank for Percentile Scored

 

As you know that JEE Main exam has been already conducted in the month of January, and the NTA has begun the application process for second JEE Main exam of the year. An important change which students need to know is that NTA has increased the number of papers for which JEE Main exam is conducted from 2 to 3. Those Candidates who have already appeared in JEE Main January 2020 examination can appear in JEE Main April 2020 examination for improvement. The candidate's best of the two NTA scores will be considered for preparation of ranking.

 

JEE Main Exam Pattern:

There will be three papers. Exam will be held in computer-based mode for all three papers and  the exam duration will be 3 hours.

JEE Main Paper I is for students who wish to take admission to B.E. or B.Tech. programme. It will have three sections, each dealing with one subject - Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Each section will have 20 MCQs and 5 questions with answer as numerical value.

JEE Main Paper II is for students who wish to get admission in Architecture courses. It will have three sections too - Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing Test. Mathematics section will have 20 Multiple Choice Questions and 5 numerical value questions. Aptitude Test will have 50 MCQs. There will be 2 questions in the drawing test. Drawing Test part will be held offline.

JEE Main Paper III is for students who wish to get admission in B.Sc. Planning courses. It will have three sections too - Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Planning Test. Mathematics section will have 25 questions in total, with 20 MCQs and 5 numerical value questions. Aptitude Test will have 50 MCQs. There will be 25 Planning-based MCQs.

NTA Score Calculation:

NTA scores are calculated by normalizing the marks obtained by a candidate. Percentile scores are scores based on the relative performance of all candidates who appear in the exam. For JEE Main result calculation, NTA will convert the marks into percentile scores and use this percentile scores for the preparation of All India rank and category wise rank.

To get admission in good colleges for engineering, your all India rank should be between 1 and 25000, in IIITs it should be between 25000 and 45000.To get admission in GFTIs you should get all India rank between 70000 and 80000.

Students with 95 percentile and above can start preparing for JEE Advanced.
